Your text takes the shortest route.
No middleman server. The extension talks directly to Google.
Third-party proxy servers are never involved.
Key stored in your browser
Your Gemini API key is saved in your browser's sync storage, not on a server of ours.
Sent only when you ask
Text is sent only after you select it and choose Fix Grammar & Rephrase from the right-click menu.
Direct to Google
Selected text goes straight to Google's official API, and nowhere else.
Because your text is processed by Gemini, Google's API terms and data policies apply to it. Avoid selecting sensitive information such as passwords or card numbers.
Where it works, and where it doesn't.
The extension uses your browser's standard right-click menu, so it works anywhere that menu does.
Works on
- Gmail and other webmail
- Social media sites
- Forums and comment boxes
- Standard web pages and forms
Doesn't work in
- Google Docs
- Apps that override the browser's right-click menu
These apps use custom interfaces, so the extension's menu item never appears.
Questions, answered.
Is the extension free?
The extension itself is free. It runs on your own Gemini API key, and you can get a free key from Google AI Studio. Usage limits and pricing are set by Google.
Where do I get a Gemini API key?
Sign in to Google AI Studio, create an API key, and paste it into the extension's Options page.
Which Gemini models can I use?
Gemini 2.5 Flash and Gemini 2.0 Flash are supported. Press Auto-Detect on the settings page and the extension finds the models your key can use.
Where is my API key stored?
In your browser's sync storage. It isn't sent to any server run by the extension.
Does my text go through other servers?
No. Selected text is sent directly to Google's official Gemini API, never through third-party proxy servers.
Why can't I use it in Google Docs?
Google Docs and similar apps replace the browser's right-click menu with their own, so the extension's menu item can't appear. Copy your text into a standard text field to use it there.
Will it change what I meant to say?
The grammar fix keeps your original meaning. The two rephrasings offer different tones and wording, so choose the one that sounds like you.
